A custom builtin sauna we built needed a heater upgrade — not a full room tear-out. The original compact wall-style unit sat behind a wooden safety rail with a wall faucet above the stones. It heated the room, but it wasn’t the stone mass or silhouette the owners wanted for daily use.
We replaced it with a floor-standing tower (pillar) stone heater. Same custom room, same footprint mindset: more stone, a cleaner vertical presence, and heat that matches how the sauna is actually used.
Before

After

What changed
- Compact wall heater changed to a tower stone heater with greater stone capacity.
- Clearance and safety rail adjusted for the new unit.
- Room finishes left intact — renovation-focused, not a rebuild.
- Same Sauna Craft custom builtin shell; heater and stone experience upgraded.
Why this project matters
Not every sauna job is a new build. Homeowners who already have a solid room often need a heater replacement or a targeted refresh, which is a big part of our home sauna remodel work. Sauna Craft handles that as contractors: measure, specify the right heater for the cubic footage, fit it, and leave the room ready for first heat-up.
