Fort Wayne homes

Fort Wayne has everything from older houses near downtown to newer subdivisions in the northern suburbs, and the right sauna depends on the house. In a newer home with a full basement, a dedicated basement room is usually simplest; our 6 x 4.5 ft basement sauna seats 5 or 6. Where the basement is finished or taken, we frame and insulate a room on the garage slab, as in our garage sauna build with tight-knot cedar walls, clear cedar benches, and a Harvia heater. Backyard rooms are built like small buildings; see the sauna shed.

Every room gets a heater sized to its cubic footage, ceiling height included, a dedicated electrical circuit, a ventilation plan, and heat-ready wood: cedar, hemlock, or Nordic spruce.

Commercial saunas for Fort Wayne

Fort Wayne is the second-largest city in Indiana, with a big base of gyms, health clubs, physical therapy and chiropractic clinics, hospital-affiliated fitness programs, hotels, and college athletics. For commercial rooms, we work as the sauna trade under the general contractor of record, who pulls the permit. We provide the room dimensions, heater model and electrical requirements, clearances, and ventilation plan. We plan the accessible bench and turning space around section 612 of the 2010 ADA Standards and the approved drawings. Indiana Class 1 projects need a state design release before construction.

Commercial references: Indy City Barbell, a gym sauna built around gym hours; the YMCA Kokomo room for 10 to 12 people; and the hybrid Colts practice facility sauna. See also sauna subcontracting for contractors.

How the distance changes the schedule

Fort Wayne is close to two hours each way, so we keep trips to a minimum. Photos and rough dimensions come first, then one site visit to measure and confirm the heater and electrical, then one build window. Most custom saunas take one to two weeks from the agreed start date, depending on the room’s size and complexity, and we finish with a walk-through of the heater and controls.

Wood heat and trailers

For rural Allen, Whitley, and DeKalb County properties, we build wood-burning saunas as outdoor standalone rooms only. Trailer saunas are built at our Fortville shop on a trailer you bring us.
