Half an hour from the shop

Anderson is about as close to our Fortville shop as downtown Indianapolis, and that short drive helps in practical ways. Jason can stop by on a weekday to measure, then come back for a second look if the electrical panel, a floor drain, or the route for a backyard power line needs checking before framing. After the build, a question about the heater or controls is a quick trip, not a road day.

Home saunas for Anderson houses

Housing here runs from older homes near downtown and the White River to newer subdivisions toward Pendleton and the I-69 interchanges. Each points to a different spot for the room:

  • Older homes: basements often have low ceilings, older mechanicals, or damp corners, so we check height, moisture, and heater clearances before drawing anything.
  • Newer homes: a finished basement or spare bedroom can take a framed room like our 6 x 4.5 ft basement sauna, which seats 5 or 6.
  • Full basement: a garage bay can become a sealed cedar room on the slab, the way our garage sauna was framed and insulated on bare concrete.
  • Yard space: a backyard sauna shed like the one we built for 2 to 4 people, with a black stone accent wall behind the heater.

Inside, we size the heater to the room’s volume rather than its floor area, choose cedar, hemlock, or Nordic spruce, and plan the dedicated circuit and ventilation up front. If you want to preheat the room from your phone on the drive home, ask about Wi-Fi sauna controls.

Outdoor rooms near the river and Mounds State Park

Lots along the White River and out toward Mounds State Park can have the space for an outdoor sauna. We treat it as a small building: a base that keeps the wood off standing water, a roof that sheds snow, real insulation, and a power run from the house. Check setbacks and any HOA rules for outbuildings before you choose the spot. If you would rather heat with a fire, we build wood-burning saunas only as outdoor standalone rooms or on trailers, never inside a house.

Commercial saunas in Madison County

Anderson businesses that add a sauna are usually after recovery or member value: gyms and training boxes, physical therapy and chiropractic practices, recovery studios, hotels, and college or club athletic programs. On these jobs Sauna Craft is the sauna trade. The general contractor of record pulls the permit, and we hand the design team what it needs to draw the room: dimensions and ceiling height, the heater model with its electrical load, clearances, and a ventilation plan. Public rooms get an accessible bench and turning space laid out to section 612 of the 2010 ADA Standards, and Indiana Class 1 buildings need a state design release before work begins.

Being close helps after handover too. Commercial rooms need daily cleaning and regular heater inspections, and if staff have a question about the heater or controls, our shop is half an hour away. Our references are the hybrid team room at the Colts practice facility, sized for 8 to 10 linemen; the 10 by 10 ft Western Red Cedar room at YMCA Kokomo; and the gym sauna at Indy City Barbell, built around the gym’s hours. Anderson sauna FAQ

How far is Anderson from your shop?

About 30 minutes. Our only shop is at 15697 Lin Rd in Fortville, a short drive down I-69 from Anderson.

Can my older Anderson basement take a sauna?

Often, yes. We check ceiling height, moisture, and heater clearances first. If the basement is not a good fit, a garage bay or a backyard sauna shed usually is.

Can I control the sauna from my phone?

Yes. We offer Wi-Fi sauna controls, so you can preheat the room, set a schedule, and adjust the temperature or timer from an app.

Do you build for gyms and clinics in Anderson?

Yes. We build commercial saunas for gyms, therapy clinics, studios, and hotels, working under the general contractor of record.

Plan your Anderson sauna

Call or text Jason at 317-626-5669 or email saunacraftco@gmail.com. Tell him where the room would go and send a few photos with rough measurements; that is usually enough for a first estimate. You can also reach us through the contact form, or try the sauna cost estimate tool for a ballpark.

Up the road, we also build in Muncie and Kokomo. Closer to the shop, see Fortville, Fishers, and Noblesville. Richmond and Columbus, Indiana have their own pages, and commercial owners beyond our two-hour area should start with the regional commercial sauna builder page.
