Wellness Center Saunas in Indiana

Sauna Craft designs and builds commercial saunas for wellness centers, med spas, recovery studios, gyms, and YMCAs. We work from our shop at 15697 Lin Rd in Fortville. Jason Guilliam and the Sauna Craft crew scope the room, size the heater to its cubic footage, and build it on your site, so your members and clients get a heat room made for daily use. Who we build wellness center saunas for

  • Wellness centers and med spas adding heat therapy to their services
  • Recovery studios and contrast-therapy rooms, with the sauna next to a cold plunge
  • Gyms, training facilities, and team performance programs
  • YMCAs and community fitness centers
  • Hotels, spas, and membership clubs
  • Owners of aging commercial heat rooms that need a renovation

If your facility is a gym or training space, the same build approach applies. See our commercial saunas page for the full list of facility types and the markets we travel to.

A commercial-grade sauna, not a home kit

A wellness center sauna runs on a schedule, and people use it all day. That changes how the room is built.

  • The heater is sized to the room, so it holds temperature as groups come and go
  • The benches are built for heavy traffic, and the room is sized to seat people without crowding
  • Heat-ready woods: cedar, hemlock, or Nordic spruce
  • Tempered glass doors, soft LED or under-bench lighting, and controls your staff can run day to day
  • Finishes that stand up to daily cleaning
  • Custom wood finishes, lighting, glass, and branding details to match your space

Traditional, infrared, or hybrid heat

A traditional Finnish sauna heats the air with an electric heater and sauna stones. An infrared sauna uses infrared panels to warm the body directly at lower temperatures. A hybrid room puts both in one space, so clients can choose a hotter traditional session or a gentler infrared one. We also build steam rooms, which need plumbing for the steam generator as well as power.

Traditional heat suits high-traffic rooms, and infrared suits quieter spa suites. We decide with you after looking at the room’s volume and how you plan to use it. For indoor facilities we build with electric heat. Wood-burning stoves are only for outdoor rooms and trailers; see wood-burning saunas if you are planning an outdoor room.

Code, ventilation, and electrical coordination

Before the build starts, we check the floor, the nearby walls, the ventilation, and the route for the heater’s electrical service. That way the finished room fits the building instead of fighting it. Traditional and infrared rooms need a dedicated electrical circuit. Steam rooms need plumbing too.

Your facility’s electrical work is usually handled by your electrician or your general contractor of record. We give them the heater specs and clearances and coordinate the build, which keeps permitting simple. If your build-out already has a general contractor, we can work under them as the sauna trade. See sauna subcontracting for contractors and builders.

Commercial projects you can see

  • Colts practice facility: a hybrid sauna with traditional Finnish heat plus an infrared source, built for team recovery and sized for 8 to 10 linemen at once.
  • YMCA Kokomo: a 10×10 ft sauna in Grade A Western Red Cedar. It turned an unused corner of the building into a member amenity.
  • Indy City Barbell: a sauna for a downtown Indianapolis gym with a commercial-duty Harvia heater and under-bench LEDs. We built it around gym hours so members could keep training.

How a wellness center project runs

Call or text Jason at 317-626-5669 with photos and rough dimensions of the space. We confirm the room will work, write up a commercial scope, order the heater, and schedule the build around your facility’s calendar. Every commercial build ends with a walk-through of the heater and controls, and we give you maintenance recommendations for your room. The full steps are on our process page.

Commercial projects start from our Fortville shop and cover a wide radius: roughly 400 miles north, 600 miles south, and 500 miles east and west. Indiana facilities can also see commercial saunas in Indiana, and finished rooms are in the gallery.

Wellness center sauna FAQ

Do you build saunas for wellness centers and med spas?

Yes. Sauna Craft builds commercial saunas for wellness centers, med spas, recovery studios, gyms, YMCAs, hotels, and spas. Every room is designed for daily use and heavy traffic.

Should a wellness center choose traditional, infrared, or hybrid heat?

It depends on the room and your program. Traditional heat suits high-traffic rooms, infrared suits quieter spa suites, and a hybrid room offers both. We decide with you after looking at the room volume and how you plan to use it.

Who handles the electrical work and permits?

Your facility’s electrical work is usually handled by your electrician or your general contractor of record. We provide the heater specs and clearances and coordinate the build, which keeps permitting simple.

Can you build a sauna in an existing space while we stay open?

Yes. We schedule the build around your facility’s calendar. At Indy City Barbell we worked around gym hours, and at YMCA Kokomo the sauna went into an existing space that was not being used.

What maintenance does a commercial sauna need?

Commercial saunas need daily cleaning, regular heater inspections, and periodic deep cleaning. We give each facility maintenance recommendations for its room and walk your staff through the heater and controls.

How far do you travel for commercial projects?

From our shop in Fortville, Indiana, we travel roughly 400 miles north, 600 miles south, and 500 miles east and west for commercial builds.
