One interstate the whole way

Since I-69 was finished between Indianapolis and Evansville, the trip is a single interstate from our shop. It is still more than three hours, so we plan Evansville jobs as one build window: photos, drawings, and measurements first; the heater, wood, benches, glass, and electrical confirmed in writing; components planned at our Fortville shop. Most custom saunas take one to two weeks from the agreed start date, depending on the room’s size and complexity.

Indiana or Kentucky side

An Evansville or Newburgh project is an Indiana commercial job under the Indiana Building Code, and a Class 1 structure needs a state design release before construction. Across the river in Henderson or Owensboro, the Kentucky Building Code applies. Either way the architect and general contractor of record handle the permit. We supply the room dimensions and ceiling height, the heater model and electrical requirements, clearances, the ventilation plan, and the locations of the heater, controls, and lighting.

Under section 612 of the 2010 ADA Standards, a sauna with seating needs at least one bench meeting section 903: 42 inches long minimum, 20 to 24 inches deep, a seat 17 to 19 inches high, with back support. It also needs a turning space under section 304 and a door that doesn’t swing into the bench’s clear floor space. We build to your architect’s approved plans.

Trailer saunas

You bring your trailer to our Fortville shop, and we build the sauna on it with a Harvia Cilindro 16 wood-burning stove or a propane or electric heater. Wood heat is used only in outdoor and trailer builds. See mobile and trailer saunas.

Proof

YMCA Kokomo is our community-center reference: a 10 by 10 ft Grade A Western Red Cedar room for 10 to 12 people. We also built the hybrid team sauna at the Colts practice facility and the gym sauna at Indy City Barbell. We don’t have an Evansville project to show yet.
